Sorry this is so late! I’ve had a couple of hacking issues and couldn’t access my site. It was all pretty freaky but I think mostly fixed now… or on the road to recovery, at the very least. I’m happy to have had a backup!
Rather than try to remember what went on in June, I’ll just give a bit of a bare-bones update. I know, it’s a total cop out but I’ve just got so many other things to do! This working while travelling things is tough stuff. I earned $7356 in June which seems to be what I’ve averaged since the beginning of the year, so that’s good!
Earnings Breakdown:
- Adsense — $365 – Another crappy month.
- Affiliate sales — $146 – Affiliate sales are dying a painful death. I’m doing nothing to revive them, so it doesn’t come as a surprise. I feel like affiliate sales are something that takes a lot of care and monitoring… two things I’m interested in doing. It’s hard to get excited about selling travel insurance.
- Advertising — $6740 – Things are getting even more skewed towards ad sales as my earnings drop in other areas. I guess I’m lucky that people keep getting in touch with me and there are no signs of this slowing down. I have been noticing that some companies have requested I remove links or add ‘no-follow’ which I’m guess is as a result of a Google update. This made me nervous as I thought my ad sales might slow down as a result, but that hasn’t happened. Yet.
- Ebook Sales — $105 – Fifteen sales.
Spending Breakdown:
I had another pretty low spending month at $788.
- Link Building Services — $147 – I’m still using Linkvana (14 day trial for $5 affiliate link/50 free outsourcing credits affiliate link). No idea if this is a good idea or not.
- Hosting – $120 – I paid for another year with Hostgator.
- Programming – $325 – I had another miniBB forum installed on my living in Kampala website.
- Content – $40 – I paid for two articles for my Kigali website.
- Stock Photos – $89 – Stock photos mostly for Blighty Traveller articles.
- Mystery Payment – $62 – I have no idea what this was for. I could look it up but I’m being lazy.
- Ebook — $5 – Monthly cost to sell my ebook.
So there you have it! My belated June earnings report. I’ve got a few more posts to follow with some updates on my travels. Sorry about the delay and here’s hoping the hackers leave me alone!
