November Earnings & Spending Report

November was looking like it’d be a huge fail after such a great October but I pulled it out with $2128 in earnings. It certainly doesn’t compare with the mammoth months I’ve had recently but it’s great for not being online for a lot of November. I spent a week in Uganda mostly working on an NGO site and then I headed on a tour from the 22nd which meant zero online time. There were plenty of potential advertisers, but not time to do the work required! So December has some nice looking deals to be done. Another shining example of passive income and I’m really happy to have eeked up above the $2000 mark.

Earnings Breakdown:

  • Adsense – $348 – Adsense seems to be forever stuck at the $350 to $400 mark and it’s frustrating me! I’ve been making efforts at increasing this including building a couple of Adsense-oriented sites. My living in New York site is creeping up Google’s rankings and is on page two. If I can get this ranking well on page one I expect a bit of a jump in Adsense. We’ll see!
  • Affiliate sales – $719 – Travel insurance is still my key earner. One network dropped from about $250 in earnings to $40 and the other rose from about $100 to $300. World Nomads is starting to pay off again after a concerted effort at getting it performing again. It’s great when hard work pays off.
  • Advertising – $997 – Due to not being able to answer ad requests for most of the month, this is where things suffered. It’s encouraging, though, that I still had emails to deal with and December is looking good, despite being away from the net for almost half the month. I pulled off my biggest deal yet yesterday which is a nice early Xmas gift to myself.
  • Ebook Sales – $63 – If I want ebook sales to start up again I’ll have to do an update and start pushing things a bit. But I’ve got too many other things on my plate just now (as usual) so, for the moment, I’ll have to be happy with small amounts of passive income – which I always am!

Spending Breakdown:

My total spending on my internet biz was $876. After a great October I spent a bit freely on things like outsourcing articles. I’ve seen some positive results so far so I’ll continue to do this.

  • Advertising – $120 – Three months worth of advertising I bought on another site.
  • Link Building Services – $206 – These are the monthly fees for two link building sites I’m using.
  • Article Outsourcing – $545 – This time I’ve included the article outsourcing I’ve done for the link building sites. I spent $400 on outsourcing articles. This also includes content I bought for my Africa site that’s in the works. I’ll be spending a lot on content for the new site in the coming months.
  • Ebook – $5 – Monthly cost to sell my ebook.

I’m already ahead of November’s earnings because of the big deal I did yesterday which is pretty sweet! It comes at a great time, too, because I’ll be spending a lot of money on my new Africa site in January. Plus I have plane tickets to buy… I’ve got a few big plans for 2011 that will cost me. It’s really great to see such a big jump in earnings over the past few month when compared to last year, as well. Lots of plans in the works and I’m really looking forward to seeing what 2011 holds!
